•
If there is a central conceptual framework that has reliably borne the weight of modern physics as it ascends into the twenty-first century, it is the framework of quantum mechanics. Because of its enduring stability in experimental application, physics has today reached heights that not only inspire wonder, but arguably exceed the limits of intuitive vision, if not intuitive comprehension. For many physicists and philosophers, however, the currently fashionable tendency toward exotic interpretation of the theoretical formalism is recognized not as a mark of ascent for the tower of physics, but rather an indicator of swayーone that must be dampened rather than encouraged if practical progress is to continue.

In this unique two-part volume, designed to be comprehensible to both specialists and non-specialists, the authors chart out a pathway forward by identifying the central deficiency in most interpretations of quantum mechanics: That in its conventional, metrical d...

The author analyzes WHYphysicists like Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawking explain the universe using quantum theory. What is quantum theory? How do we perceive? How is causality flawed? How is reverse time possible? How does language processing happen? How do we understand? How does pattern recognition play a role in perception? What is reality? How does the arrow theory of time make assumptions that time flows in only one direction? How does reverse time travel happen in multidimensional spacetime? The latest explanations come from quantum physics. What is quantum physics? How did quantum physics evolve? How does quantum thinking affect our thoughts? The author bridges the disparity between quantum physics and religion by discussing snippets of logical reasoning offering insight into how both pursuits may coexist. There is no consensus on the origin of life nor the goal of lif...

 •
In this magisterial work, Roland Omn?s takes us from the academies of ancient Greece to the laboratories of modern science as he seeks to do no less than rebuild the foundations of the philosophy of knowledge. One of the world's leading quantum physicists, Omn?s reviews the history and recent development of mathematics, logic, and the physical sciences to show that current work in quantum theory offers new answers to questions that have puzzled philosophers for centuries: Is the world ultimately intelligible? Are all events caused? Do objects have definitive locations? Omn?s addresses these profound questions with vigorous arguments and clear, colorful writing, aiming not just to advance scholarship but to enlighten readers with no background in science or philosophy.

The book opens with an insightful and sweeping account of the main developments in science and the philosophy of knowledge from the pre-Socratic era to the nineteenth century. Omn?s then traces the emer...

 •
This book provides a thorough and up-to-date introduction to the philosophy of quantum physics. Although quantum theory is renowned for its spectacular empirical successes, controversial discussion about how it should be understood continue to rage today. In this volume, the authors provide an overview of its numerous philosophical challenges: Do quantum objects violate the principle of causality? Are particles of the same type indistinguishable and therefore not individual entities? Do quantum objects retain their identity over time? How does a compound quantum system relate to its parts? These questions are answered here within different interpretational approaches to quantum theory. Finally, moving to Quantum Field Theory, we find that the problem of non-locality is exacerbated**.**

Philosophy of quantum physics is aimed at philosophers with an interest in physics, while also serving to familiarize physicists with many of the essential philosophical questions of t...

 •
Welcome to the fascinating world of quantum philosophy! In this book we will immerse ourselves in the complex web of ideas that make up quantum philosophy, trying to reconcile the vision of a universe made up of individual "things" with that of a holistic universe, in which "Everything is One". Through the chapters of this book we will explore the rich insights of the great thinkers and scientists who contributed to the formation of this discipline, and we will seek to find common ground between the seemingly conflicting perspectives.

In the first chapter (The intricate fabric of quantum philosophy) we will delve into the complexity of the topic. We will explore the conceptual foundations of this discipline, such as Heisenberg's uncertainty principle and the role of the observer in the measurement process. We will reveal the challenge to classical scientific notions and the opening of new possibilities for understanding the universe.

In the second chapter ...

 •
The book investigates the ontology and logic of quantum physics. The first part discusses the relationship of theory and observation and different views on the ontological status of scientific theories. It introduces the fundamentals of quantum mechanics and some of its interpretations and their compatibility with various ontological positions. In the second part, implications of quantum mechanics on classical logic, especially on the distributive law and bivalence, as discussed by Garrett Birkhoff & John von Neumann (1936) and Hilary Putnam (1968), and their counterarguments are reconstructed and discussed. It is concluded that classical logic is sufficient for dealing with quantum mechanical propositions.
画面が切り替わりますので、しばらくお待ち下さい。 ※ご購入は、楽天kobo商品ページからお願いします。※切り替わらない場合は、こちら をクリックして下さい。 ※このページからは注文できません。

 •
Reality and Waves brings Philosophy into dialogue with Quantum Physics, offering a full-blown system Ellingsen calls the Philosophy of Waves. Quantum Physicists contend that reality is wave-like, and so the book helps us to see what the universe looks like when all its components are construed as being waves. Ellingsen makes the case for how Religion and Ethics have scientific validity. He teaches a Quantum Ethic for readers, a vision of life as joyful play in the waves of reality, but doing so with a commitment to fighting any wave which aims to divide us or increase entropy (unfocused, destructive energy). He also introduces us to a God who dwells in the “stuff” of matter, a God who binds the particles and atoms into matter. The result is a Philosophy of Religion offering fresh solutions to perennial questions about the relationship between freedom and destiny, about God's transcendence and immanence in the cosmos, and about God's relationship to evil. The philosophical syste...

 •
This book is the final outcome of two projects. My first project was to publish a set of texts written by Schrodinger at the beginning of the 1950's for his seminars and lectures at the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies. These almost completely forgotten texts contained important insights into the interpretation of quantum mechanics, and they provided several ideas which were missing or elusively expressed in SchrOdinger's published papers and books of the same period. However, they were likely to be misinterpreted out of their context. The problem was that current scholarship could not help very much the reader of these writings to figure out their significance. The few available studies about SchrOdinger's interpretation of quantum mechanics are generally excellent, but almost entirely restricted to the initial period 1925-1927. Very little work has been done on Schrodinger's late views on the theory he contributed to create and develop. The generally accepted view is tha...

 •
This book attempts to interpret the nature of reality as it is concurrently described by quantum physics, but its concern is that which cannot be described with physics or mathematics, it is about the first fraction of a second after the big bang when all physics and mathematics breaks down, a big bang that was not a onetime occurrence but is rather an ongoing activity, it is about the Planck length and Planck time where no measurements can be taken, no observations can be made and deductive reasoning and subconscious awareness is our only means of understanding. It is about the dual nature of reality described in Quantum Physics and interpreted by Theology. It attempts to define how the finite and infinite combine to complete the purpose of the Absolute Reality of the Singularity. It attempts to describe the nature of reality as a mosaic in which all the concepts fit together to form an Absolute Reality that has meaning and that has purpose, where God is not an abstract princi...

 •
Quantum mechanics is perhaps the greatest scientific breakthrough ever achieved. It brought with it a seismic paradigm shift in our way of thinking about nature, and at the same time, it underpins most of the dramatic technological innovations of the modern era, as well as providing a profound lasting impact on our metaphysical conception of reality. This book provides oversight of many views on the interpretation of quantum physics and the wide philosophical debate that still embroils this subject. Following an introduction to quantum mechanics according to the Copenhagen interpretation and the many-worlds formalism, the reader is taken on a journey exploring the many physical results and theorems of quantum philosophy with an emphasis on quantum entanglement and Bell’s theorem before proceeding to explore Hawking radiation and the corresponding information loss problem and its unitary resolution and the connection between spacetime geometry and quantum entanglement. The book ...

 •
This book reconceptualizes the ancient philosophy of 'dualism' and a 'trinity' applied to classical and quantum nonequilibrium phenomena. In addition to classical mechanics and electrodynamics, a remarkable connection of this philosophy with quantum mechanics is established, which can be useful for quantum computing and the development of quantum artificial intelligence. Packed with the recent theoretical models, quantum simulations of black holes, and experimental observations of quantum phase transitions, this book brings a holistic approach that can be useful to refine the concept of the 'Creation', i.e., the evolution of the Universe from the condensed state of matter, and explain the artificial vision. The approch is:

Unique: Connects ancient philosophy, classical and quantum mechanics, materials, and the latest quantum technologies

Novelty: High level of scientific interpretation of ancient philosop...

 •
It is hard to interpret quantum mechanics. The most surprising, but also most parsimonious, interpretation is the many-worlds, or quantum-multiverse interpretation, implying a permanent coexistence of parallel realities. Could this perhaps be the appropriate interpretation of quantum mechanics? This book collects evidence for this interpretation, both from physics and from other fields, and proposes a subjectivist version of it, the clustered-minds multiverse. The author explores its implications through the lens of decision making and derives consequences for free will and consciousness. For example, free will can be implemented in the form of vectorial choices, as introduced in the book. He furthermore derives consequences for research in the social sciences, especially in psychology and economics.
画面が切り替わりますので、しばらくお待ち下さい。 ※ご購入は、楽天kobo商品ページからお願いします。※切り替わらない場合は、こちら をクリックして下さい。 ※このページからは注文でき...
